[Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXXV] A transformer comprising coils 2 and a core 3 is mounted together with accessory parts on a plate 1, which assembly is held in position by being gripped between projections 17, 17<1> on the cover 15 and backplate 16 respectively. To provide resiliency the cover 15 and backplate 16 may be of rubber, or the tips only of projections 17, 171 may be resilient. The supply is connected to a three pin socket 25 in a wall box 24, Fig. 2, on which the transformer is mounted by inserting into the socket a three pin plug (not shown) mounted behind backplate 16. The supply to the transformer primary from the plug is through leads 14, springloaded. plunger switch 7 operated by a cam 10 on a shaft 9, leads 13 and fuses mounted on an insulating block 5. Other fuses on a block 51 are in the secondary circuit connected to a flexible lead 23. A locking device to prevent the removal of the transformer from the wall box 24 when the switch is " on " is provided by a double-armed member (not shown) on the end of the switch spindle 9 remote from the handle 19, which can enter a hole 28 of similar shape in the wall box when the switch is " off, " but is turned through 90 degrees in the " on " position. A watertight plug and socket coupling is described in which a sleeve abutting against a brass ring let into an extension of the casing surrounding the plug screws on to the socket. The terminals may have rubber caps.
