Abstract

583,407. Two-part couplings. CINCH MANUFACTURING CORPORATION. Oct. 24, 1944, No. 20635. Convention date, Nov. 11, 1943. [Class 38 (i)] The socket-part of a connector comprises a single blank slit to provide separate resilient portions 16, 17 bent at 19, 18 to lie in parallel planes, the portion 17 being divided to provide a throat for the reception of a conductor terminal tip 2. Tapered edges of the portion 17 and notches 14, 23 permit snap-fastener insertion in a T-shaped aperture 26, in a thin insulating mounting 25. The jaws of the portion 17 are pinched toward each other to form a throat, with which the terminal tip 2 makes snap-fastener connection, a disc-like head 4 of the tip 2 making contact with the portion 16. The core of a conductor 30 is secured to the tag 13, as by wrapping around its T-shaped end or, as shown, by threading through an aperture 29.
