Abstract

582,973. Tyre valves. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and DAW, R. F. June 28, 1945, No. 16461. [Class 135] An angled tyre-valve stem 7 adapted to seat in a groove 15 in the rim-base, over which a tyre-retaining flange 4 is detachably secured, is protected against damage by the-flange by means of a cradle 1, preferably of con-corrosive metal, formed with an end-portion 5 which is shaped and apertured to fit over the angle of the valve-stem, its body portion having a groove 2 to seat the adjacent axial portion of the,stem. The end portion 5 has a shoulder 10 to protect the valve-stem against direct abutment with the inner edge of the flange 4 if, in assembly of the latter, the valve-stem should be forced up to the end 11 of the groove 15. To prevent displacement of the cradle 1, it is fitted with a spring-clip 12, the end 14 of which is adapted to snap under the valve-stem.
