582,421. Stuffing-boxes &c. THOMPSON PRODUCTS, Inc. Aug. 11, 1943, No. 12994. Convention date, Aug. 5, 1942. Addition to 552,932, [Group XXVIII]. [Class 122 (v)] [Also in. Groups XXVIII and XXIX] A modification of the pipe coupling of the parent Specification comprises a pair of coupling boxes together defining a valve chamber with open top and closed bottom each port having a passageway to the chamber and one part of a split plug valve, the valve parts being sealed by dished or cylindrically concave sealing rings 37 which may be formed of hard rubber backed by soft rubber urged by springs 70 and having internal retaining rings flanged to prevent outward axial expansion.
