[Class 136 (i)] A cycle carrier assembly for supporting a cycle on the bumper of a motor vehicle comprises a cycle frame provided with a depending supporting member 23 welded to the bottom bracket 14 and lower rear fork tubes 16 and a bracket 36 adapted to be secured to the bumper 11 having a complementary supporting member 21 for engaging the sup-. porting member 23 on the frame and clamping means 25 for securing the supporting members together. In the construction shown, the supporting member 23 is provided by the seat pillar tube 13 of the cycle frame which extends behind and below the bottom bracket 14 and is welded to the bottom bracket and sides of the fork members 16. The bracket 36 is secured to the bumper 11 by four hook-ended screw bolts 47 and is integral with or secured to an arm 35 which carries an upwardly projecting post 21. The open end of the tube 13 is adapted to be placed over the post 21 and to be secured thereto by clamp 25. The latter is welded or otherwise secured to the tube 13 which is slit at 20 to aid the clamping action. Elongated slots 46 in the bracket 36 permit of adjustment to suit bumpers of varying depth. In an alternative construction, Figs. 5-8 (not shown), a post is welded to the base of the seat pillar tube which is of conventional type. The post projects vertically downwards therefrom and is held in a clamping member integral with the bracket 36. A rubber pad may be secured to the bracket 36 to prevent the marring of the bumper.
