Abstract

578,808. Looms. WRIGHT & SONS, Ltd., M., and WILLIAMSON, W. Feb. 16, 1944, No. 2843. [Class 142 (ii)] In looms utilising a stationary weft supply, such as those described in Specifications 528,738, 528,900, 558,128, 566,922, which have a selvedge shuttle fitted with a rack of teeth, motion is imparted to the shuttle by a cam-operated oscillatable quadrant or gear. The gear 57 is driven from a spring- tensioned lever 52, pivoted at 53 and oscillated by a cam 51 on the half-speed shaft 50 of the loom. Oppositely rotating gears 41, 42 driven by the gear 57 actuate the shuttle 30 by means of its rack 40.
