Abstract

578,068. Rain excluders for window and door frames. HOPE & SONS, Ltd., H., and BIRCH, F. July 1, 1944, No. 12561. [Class 20 (iii)] In combination with a window or door frame there is provided a baffle member, having one edge secured to the frame, to divert into the wall cavity the rain water which may pass the adjacent outer edge of the frame. In one form the baffle d comprises a metal sheet, secured at one edge e to the frame f by screws g and bent at a right angle to enter the wall cavity. A sheet of expanded metal h is secured to the baffle as keying for the plaster i. Where the wall cavity extends through to the side face of the opening the baffle may be of trough-shape to extend across it.
