576,259. Rolling tubes. HALL BROS. (NETHERTON), Ltd., and HALL, D. May 4, 1944, No. 8444. [Class 83 (iv)] Tube ends, heated if necessary, are closed by axial rolling. The tube c is chucked in a, spindle b and rolled between rolls o having quadrantal grooves p. The rolls are mounted on cross-slides i closed on the work by a right- and left-hand screw k. The closed end is finished by feeding the saddle e towards the chuck.
