Abstract
575,337. Scribers. ARON, E., POLLARD, E., and COOK, F. F. Feb. 7, 1944, No. 2236. [Class 61 (ii)] A device for scribing cross-lines comprises a scriber head vertically adjustable by means of a V-slide 11 along a saddle which has means for adjustably traversing it in any direction in one plane, e.g. along a bridge member adapted to be positioned along two guideways at its end, said head having on its underside two scriber slides 21 movable along intersecting guides 18, 19 by two arms 30, 31 of a pivoted lever 24 which bring the scribers one after the other under a projecting cam face 20 causing them to be momentarily projected for marking first one and then the other of the cross lines. The scriber slides 21 are connected to the arms 30, 31 by pins 25 engaging blocks 26 movable in transverse ways 27 in the slides and the lever 24 is actuated by means of a third arm 32 connected by a pin 28 to a cross-head 23 movable along a third guideway 17 by a rod 33 articulated to a pivoted operating lever 41.. Each of the scribers 46 is supported against spring pressure in a tubular member 43 which is guided in a holder 21 and maintained in contact with the cam 20 by a spring 45.
