[Class 38 (v)] A ceiling type switch has an insulator inserted in the actuating chain at its entry into the switch to provide safety for the user. In the Figure, the ends e of the chain pass into two parallel holes b, b<1> in the spherical insulator a and are retained in position by washers f resting on shoulders formed by changes in cross-section of the holes.
