Abstract

573,417. Pressure gauges. TURNER, W. Feb. 5, 1944, No. 15596/43. [Class 106 (ii)] To retain the indicating member 2 of a tyre pressure gauge in its extended position to facilitate reading the pressure and also to prevent dirt entering the gauge, the indicating member is embraced by a soft and flexible packing ring 5 enclosed in an enlarged head 3. The ring which may be of felt is prevented from being drawn into the gauge by a metal 'washer 6 and is pressed on to the indicating member 2 by a conical thrust washer 7 acted on by a spring 8 held in position by a cap 3b.
