Abstract

In the preparation of alginic yarns, for example from alginic acid or calcium alginate, the yarn is first collected upon coagulation into a cake and is then run off from the cake while still wet, first through a washing bath and then through a drying chamber. The yarn may be stretched after washing and during drying. Specifications 415,042 and 548,248 are referred to.
