Abstract
572,723. Milling-cutters, reamers, &c. BROOKE TOOL MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and SHARP, B. May 5, 1944, No. 8497. [Class 83 (iii)] In an inserted blade milling-cutter, reamer, &c., wherein the blades are secured in slots in the body by brazing, each blade b has grooves in the rear face thereof to facilitate the flow of brazing compound on the adjacent face of the slot. The grooves comprise a main channel b<1> tapering from an entrance duct b<2> to the narrower end which joins a groove b<3>, b<4> passing round the blade and side branches b<5> which may be of arcuate or other curved shape. Blades of larger size may have two or more main grooves b<6>, Fig. 5, leading to the surrounding groove b<3>, b<4> and side branches b<5>.
