Abstract
572,238. Sewing-machine attachments. GEGAUF'S SOHNE AKT.-GES., F. Aug. 17, 1943, Nos. 13376, 13377 and 13378. Convention dates, April 17, 1942, April 1, 1943 and July 20, 1943. [Class 112] In a sewing-machine having a loop taker 4, arranged in a projecting arm 1, additional work surface is provided by a table 8, clamped to the arm 1. Fig. 3 shows one arrangement in which the table 8 has a pin 15 which engages a hole 16 in the arm 1, and a spring-pressed ball 13, enters a notch in a bridge-piece 12 of the table and prevents axial movement of the latter until a strong force is applied. Yokes 10 are curved. at their tops and clamp against packing on the arm 1 located on each side of an aperture 17. A lid 22 is arranged in the upper surface of the table, and a closure cap 3 may be hinged downwards to gain access to the loop-taker 4. Packing 19 is provided. Other than sliding- means may be used for attaching the table. In a second arrangement, support stays are hinged downwards from the remote end of the table 8, so that the lower end of each stay rests on the table supporting the machine. A further arrangement, Fig. 11, has table-clamping means in the form of an eccentric 34 which is rotated by a handle 31 on a spindle 32, causing edges e to grip the arm 1.
