Abstract

572,157. Cycle pedals. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO., Ltd., and TAYLOR, W. H. Oct. 14, 1943, No. 16846. [Class 136 (ii)] The pedal pin is in two parts 7, 11 jointed together by a hinge pin 17, the part 11 carrying the pedal 27 and the part 7 being removably secured to the crank, and locking means is provided which automatically moves into locking position when the parts 7, 11 are moved into alignment. The part 7 is screw-threaded at 9 for attachment to the crank, and has a lock-nut 25 ; a tongue 13 on this member engages a slot 15 formed in the part 11, the hinge pin passing through the tongue 13. A sleeve 19 slidable on the part 7 is pressed outwards by a spring 23 and maintains the parts in alignment. The hinge pin projects at both ends to form a stop for the sleeve 19.
