571,644. Wind motors. BURGESS, A. F. (Wincharger Corporation). Feb. 8, 1944, No. 2317. [Class 110 (iii)] The motor 11 is free to rotate in a horizontal plane on a bearing 25 and also to occupy various positions such as shown dotted, due to the structure being mounted on side pins 17. The mill 12 drives an electric generator, wires 27 leading to slip-rings, but other types of mechanism may be driven. Fins 15 and tail planes 16, keep the mill 12 facing the wind. The speed of rotation is limited by plates 14 attached to the mill. A spring 23 constitutes means to resiliently force the housing 10 to a median position in the absence of wind.
