Abstract
570,725. Electric signalling systems. FERODO. Ltd., and PARKER, R. C. Jan. 17, 1944, No. 867. [Class 40 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVI] The difference in the rotational speeds of two members is indicated as a percentage of the speed of one of them. The rotating members drive two D.C. generators a, b which are connected in series opposition in a circuit containing a coil c acting on one end of a pivoted beam h, the other end of which is acted on by a coil g energized by the generator b and also by a coil of which the energization is automatically adjusted to keep the beam balanced. Several methods by which the coils may act on the beam are mentioned.. The coil is in series with a recording ammeter m calibrated to give the difference in speed of the generators a, b as a percentage of the speed of the generator b.
