Abstract
570,655. Discharge devices. AKT.- GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Feb. 26, 1943, No. 3205. Convention date, Jan. 20, 1942. [Class 39 (i)] In a rectifier, an arc guiding sleeve 4 is suspended by means fixed inside the insulator 2 which supports the anode 1 and can be removed without dismantling the anode. In one construction, a member 6 is driven upwards by screws 9, thereby forcing a spring 10 into a groove 11 of the insulator 2 and thereby gripping the supporting member 5 of the screen 4 in position. The spring 10 may be replaced by a series of balls. In another construction, cams 14 mounted on spindles 16 secured to member .5 may be turned into a locking engagement with a groove 17 in the insulator. A wire 18 may be threaded through holes in screws 9 or spindles 16 to prevent the suspension means from working loose.
