Abstract

569,840. Switchboards; snap action switches. HOPE, V. Dec. 6, 1943, No. 20329. [Class 38 (v)] In a combined switch and fuse box, a switch contact is mounted directly on a bus bar, a fusible contact has a cover carrying fusible e elements which is prevented from being removed when the switch is closed by a part of the movable member of the switch. In the example, two tandem switches are shown, each with a contact 21, 23 on a bus bar 18, 19 and hinged members 25, 28 bridging these con - tacts and complementary contacts 22, 24. Insulating bars 32 connected by pivots with blades 25, 28 are movable longitudinally with snap action on pulling an operating member 47, this action opening the switches and removing the ends 35 from recesses in the fuse cover 51 so that this cover may be taken off for attention to the fuses. An insulating shield 49 protects the switch parts.
