Abstract
1307589 Switchgear structures ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO Ltd 30 June 1970 [1 July 1969] 31542/70 Heading H1N A switchfuse for connecting conductors 18a, 18b, 18c to bus-bars 8a, 8b, 8c associated with a swithboard has a base 1 for attachment to the switchboard and a housing 19 which is releasably retainable in position relative to the base, the housing 19 carrying fixed switch contacts 30a, 30b, 30c, 31a and movable blade contacts 23, 24 coupled to fuse links 22, the fixed contacts 30a, 30b, 30c being disposed to make electrical contact with the bus-bars. The switchfuse is mounted in a metal cubicle 2. The fuses 22 and movable contacts 23, 24 are carried by a member 20 slidable relative to the housing 19 by a mechanism (e.g. that shown in Specification No. 1257191) operable from outside the cubicle and interlocked with the door of the cubicle so that the door can be opened to gain access to the fuses only after the contacts 23, 30, 24, 31 have been separated. The individual bus-bars 8, conductors 18, and contacts 23, 24, 30, 31 are separated by insulating partitions in the members 1, 19 (Figs. 3, 4 not shown).
