Abstract

569,061. Inertia switches. THOMAS, A. E. F. Nov. 24, 1943, No. 19656. [Class 38 (v)] A shock operated switch, which may be used to light a lamp when goods dropped from aircraft strike the ground, comprises a ball 7 mounted between cupped surfaces 5. 6 and adapted to force them apart into such a position as that shown, by its inertia. The surfaces 5, 6 are formed on levers 1, 2 pivoted at 3, 4 and the above action brings contacts 8, 9 on the other ends of the levers into engagement.
