Abstract
Sulphanilamide derivatives having the general formula <FORM:0569051/IV/1> where R stands for a keterocyclic radical, and X for a thiazole or a pyridine radical, are prepared by reacting the anhydride of a keterocyclic dicarboxylic acid with a p-aminobenzenesulphonamido-thiazole or -pyridine. In examples: (1) an acetone solution of sulphanilamide substituted with thiazole in the sulphonamide group is treated with quinolinic acid anhydride to form thiazol-sulphonamido quinolinic acid; (2) the compound prepared in example (1) is tested for its efficiency on mice. The free carboxyl group in the compounds of this invention may be substituted by a base. Derivatives mentioned include the sodium, calcium, bismuth, copper, silver, mercury, quinine, and hexamethylene tetramine salts. Specifications 502,558, 510,691 and 515,412 are referred to.
