Abstract
567,153. Float valves. TINDALL, J. H. Nov. 16, 1943, No. 1819. [Class 135] A float assembly for a float-actuated valve comprises a float formed of self-buoyant material, such as cork, and an adapter comprising two parts which are connected respectively to the float and the float arm and are mounted for relative adjustment in a vertical and horizontal sense. As shown in the Figure, a lug u screwed into a socket u<1> embedded in a hemispherical cork float t is held between washers v, w on a bolt a by a nut x. The bolt passes 'through a clearance hole in a. socket b secured to the float arm m and is held in the desired position by spacing washers y, z and nuts 1, 2. In a modification, the socket is secured to the bolt by a grub screw and the bolt passes through a clearance hole in the bottom of the float into screwed engagement with a plate embedded in the float.
