[Classes 100 (i) and 100 (iv)] Relates to intermittent feed-mechanism for a continuous web of printed forms provided with marginal feed-perforations for enabling operations to be effected on the web at spaced intervals, such as number-printing, punching identification or registration holes, stapling a number of webs together, or severing a web into individual forms, before or after the passage of the web through a typewriter, tabulating-machine, &c. The web 10, Fig. 1, is fed from a supply pack 15 to a receiving pack 17 by pin-wheels 12 driven through a belt 26 from a shaft 25, which is intermittently rotated through a constant-mesh gear-train from a, shaft 20 continuously rotated by an electromotor 18. The gear-train comprises a driving-pinion 22, Fig. 2, eccentrically mounted on the shaft 20, an intermediate pinion 24 and a driven pinion 23 on the shaft 25. The shaft 27 of the intermediate pinion 24 is floatingly supported by two straps 28, 29 extending from the axes of the pinions 22, 23, so that the pinion 24 oscillates bodily about the axis of the pinion 23 and drives it intermittently. A member, such as a punch 16, operates on the web in synchronism with the dwell in the paper feed under the control of a clutch actuated by a cam 19 on the continuously rotating shaft 20.
