Abstract

563,957. Clamps. MULHALL, H. L., and DEAN, A. R. C. March 20, 1943, No. 4554. [Class 61 (ii)] Work 22 is clamped on a base 20 by a screwadjustable foot 16 carried on an arm 7 pivoted at 8 to a bracket 6 secured as by bolts 21 to the base, the clamping pressure being exerted by a lever 9 pivoted to the base at 12 and provided with a wiper abutment 18 engaging a cam surface 17 on the back of the arm 7. A spring 19 raises the arm when the lever is swung back, or the abutment 18 may engage a hook on the rear end of the arm for the same purpose.
