[Class 17 (ii)] To secure a waterproof connection between an upper 1 and a wooden sole 6, a sheet 5 of rubber is adhesively secured to the upper surface of the sole, the edges being preferably turned down into a rebate 6a, and the upper 1 of rubber coated fabric, lasted to the usual insole 2, filling 3, and a rubber welt 4, is secured to the sheet 5 by vulcanizing pressure.
