560,774. Self locking nuts. DUNDAS, Ltd., R. K., KING, R. D., and WOOD, N. F. Dec. 15, 1942, No. 20959/43. Divided out of 561,286. [Class 89 (i)] Self-locking nuts are provided with a helical slot 2, preferably cut in a turneddown end, both ends of the slot may be closed as at x and y or one end may break out into the top surface of the nut. The slot extends through a limited extent only of the axial length of the nut. The slotted nut is deformed by axial compression.
