559,432. Firepots for underfeed furnaces. Mc- KEAN, J. G. Aug. 21, 1942, No. 11788. [Class 51 (i)] In an underfed firepot for furnaces having bars 2 incorporated in its walls for the supply of air for combustion and in which each bar comprises an inner wall and an outer rib or wall 4, the latter is provided at the top with an outwardly extending horizontal flange 1 having a depending flange 3 so as to present an inverted channel 5 which engages with the upper end of the wall 6 of the box 7 enclosing the firepot. A brickwork lining 8 surrounds the wall 6.
