Abstract

558,197. Syringes &c. BIDDLECOMBE, J. A., and WALFORD, J. S. June 22, 1942, No. 8564. [Classes 8 (i) and 102 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIX] A syringe or like appliance which intakes and discharges at the same end, with an inlet which is larger than the outlet, comprises a movable nozzle or rose which operates as a disc valve and seats on an apertured end wall of the appliance. In the form shown in Fig. 2, a centrally apertured cap 6 is screwed on to the end of the cylinder 2 and clamps in position the outwardly directed flange 8 of a cage comprising a sleeve with peripheral ports and an inward flange 10 to limit the inward movement of a nozzle 12. In the form shown in Fig. 7, the nozzle is replaced by a rose 14. Several minor modifications of the nozzle, rose, and fluid passages, are described in the Specification.
