553,723. Rectifying alternating current. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. (Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken). Feb. 16, 1942, No. 2067. [Class 38 (ii)] Relates to a cascade connection of rectifiers and condensers for converting low tension A.C. from a source 20, 21 into high tension D.C. at terminals 22, 23 and consists in using static contact rectifiers 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 12 of which the two elements of each stage are arranged T-fashion while the associated condensers 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 10 are arranged one on each side of the vertical limb of the T.
