Abstract
553,689. Lamp-holders. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 24, 1942, No. 3876. Convention date, March 27, 1941. [Class 38 (i)] A holder for a tubular lamp having two contact prongs at each end that are engaged with the holder contact by a rotary motion after insertion in the holder, comprises a moulding 15 with a prong-receiving aperture 16 having a lateral entry slot and a central guide stud, the cavity 25 in the moulding being divided by a partition 26 integral with a web 37 that supports the guide stud. The contacts 21 on opposite sides of the partition are biased by abutments 36 into engagement with the guide stud. A boss 38 on the rear of the web 37 strengthens the web and enters a hole 40 in the cover plate 39 of stamped sheet material.
