Abstract

552,456. Moulds for reinforced concrete slabs. GLASGOW, CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF, FERRIE, J. H., and KERR, W. Nov. 6, 1941, No. 13134. [Class 87 (ii)] A mould comprises a frame structure the sides of which are steel bars a of channel crosssection carrying panels c of expanded metal, the base and ends being steel plates d having internal protuberances f which form grouting recesses in the slabs. Horizontal angle bars b are welded to the bars a. The spacing of the bars b is gradually reduced from the top to the bottom of the mould, to resist any tendency of the panels c to bulge. The end plates are detachably held in place by bars e pivoted at J and engaging keepers k. Steel wire mesh reinforcement h is used. To facilitate the filling of large moulds, small hinged opening gates may be provided in the centre of the moulds. Moulds for casting a window, a corner slab and a mutual wall slab are described.
