Abstract
552,426. Valve amplifying circuits. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. (Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken). Aug. 8, 1941, No. 10129. [Class 40 (v)] An amplifier including at least one valve containing an auxiliary cathode emitting secondary electrons has the gain varied solely by variation of the bias of the auxiliary cathode and has the output derived from the auxiliary cathode. The Figure shows an arrangement in which the load 15 is included in the circuit of the auxiliary cathode 4 the bias of which is taken from potentiometer 17. In this way a greater range of control is obtained than if the load were included in the anode circuit. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 480,867.
