Abstract

552,300. Cigarette &c. igniters. SANDOR, B. Sept. 29, 1941, No. 12587. [Class 75 (iii)] A cigarette &c. lighter comprises a spirit container 1 having a closure member 3 at one end formed by a steel on which sparks are produced for igniting a wick carried in a passage 2 in the closure member by means of a flint 8 which may be cemented or otherwise secured to the upper surface, a cap 4 fitting over upper part of the container 1. A cap 5 carrying a flint 8 and interchangeable with the cap 4 is fitted over lower part of the container. The caps 4, 5 may be formed of synthetic resin or plastic material and contain fibre or other packing washers 6. In another construction the steel is spaced apart from the wick on the closure member. The Provisional Specification states that the steel may be carried by the cap and the flint by the container or its closure member.
