Abstract
551,137. Valves. SOMERVILLE, W., SOMERVILLE, T. W., and BLACKBURN, D. M. Dec. 4, 1941, No. 15649. [Class 135] Valve mechanism for controlling the flow of pressure and exhaust fluid comprises a pair of seatings d, an axially movable closure member e the end faces of which can co-operate with the seatings, an axially movable hollow operating stem g passing through the closure member and having openings hand grooves i adapted to communicate with opposite ends of the closure member, and a pair of annular seatings j on the stem adapted to co-operate with the ends of the closure member. The stem is moved in one direction by fluid pressure acting on a piston v, and in the opposite direction by a slidable member n. Passages s, y are provided, either of which may serve for fluid supply and the other for exhaust.
