Abstract
953,738. Valves. G. STOLL, [trading as FESTO - MASCHINENFABRIK GOTTLIEB STOLL]. June 22, 1961 [June 25, 1960], No. 22572/61. Heading F2V. A control slide valve, for controlling the supply and exhaust of fluid pressure to a motor, comprises a slide valve element 4 connected to a piston 3 which forms pressure chambers 5, 6 with its cylinder at either end of the piston. The chambers 5, 6 are fed with pressure from a supply 12 through parts 11 of the piston. Each chamber is provided with an exhaust valve 13, 14 and passages 15, 16 leading. to further exhaust valves 17, 18. In operation, the opening of an exhaust valve reduces the pressure in its associated chamber allowing the pressure in the other chamber to move the piston 3 and valve element 4. On closing this exhaust valve, the pressures in the chambers again become equal and the valve element is held in the new position. The provision of the four exhaust valves allow operation from a position remote from and adjacent the valve.
