549,942. Wound-closing appliances. SCHUMANN, S. Sept. 29, 1941, No. 12602. Convention date, Sept. 27, 1940. [Class 81 (ii)] A wound-closing clip comprises an arched body portion 21 of soft metal provided with a skin-piercing prong 12 at each end and two tabs or projections 20 of harder material one disposed on the outside of the portions 21 so that by moving the tabs 20 apart the portion 21 is bent at its middle and the prongs 12 forced into the skin; the clip may be removed from the wound by pressing the tabs together and used again. The tabs are integral with reinforcing members 18 secured to the portion 21 by clamps 16, 17 with the opposed ends of the tabs closely spaced and equidistant from the centre of the clip; lips 19 on the members 18 engage cylindrical end parts 13 of the clip.
