Abstract

549,857. Valves ; lubricating. MACKENZIE, D. June 13, 1941. No. 7476. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi)] A rotary conical valve 40 is formed with an axial exhaust passage 51 surrounded by an annular induction passage 50, and is pressed into a seating-bush 34 by a spring 73. The valve housing is made in two halves, 8, 9, the lower part 9 carrying the combustion chambers 17 ..20. The mixture from the carburetter is admitted by a connection 37 leading to the passage 50, and the exhaust pipe 61 is attached at the larger end of the valve. Lubricating-oil is supplied at 77, Fig. 4, to a passage 78 in the seating-bush 34, and thence through holes to grooves 79 on the inside of the bush, the oil passing away by a passage 80 and pipe 81.
