[Class 75 (iv)] In a water cooled. high pressure, metal vapour discharge tube having solid incandescent electrodes protruding from a quantity of vaporizable metal, fitted with a semi-cylindrical co-axial reflector by which the light is reflected on the discharge space, the length of the reflector is less than the distance between the electrodes. By these means the reflected light striking the metal surrounding the electrodes is reduced and consequential variations in the operating voltage avoided.
