[Class 125 (iii)] A closure cap for fuel tanks and like containers comprises a sealing ring 14 having a rubber or like packing ring 13 adapted to engage with the neck of the opening 10, Fig. 1, a cap 25 rotatably mounted in relation to the ring 14 adapted to seat thereon e.g. through a packing ring 31 and having a shank 27 extending therethrough, and a locking member 32 mounted on the shank 27 so that it turns therewith but can move axially or pivotally in relation thereto under control of a spring 36, arms 33 on the locking member being adapted to engage under lugs 19 projecting inwardly.in the opening 10 with a cam action when. the cap is turned in the appropriate direction so as to move the locking member 32 in relation to the shank 27. The ring 14 is formed with lugs 18, Fig. 2, carrying a pivot pin 17 which extends through an elongated slot 16 in a lug 15 on the neck 10. The arms 33 comprise an incline 37, a declivity 38 and a stop 39. In the closed position the cap is turned so that the stops 39 on the arms 33 abut against the lugs 19. When unfastened the arms 33 are freed from the lugs 19 and the upper surface of the stops 39 enter recesses adjacent to stops 24 formed on the underside of the ring 14. In a modification, the locking member comprises two U-shaped levers 45, Fig. 7, pivoted by a pin 46 to lugs on the cap 25 and under the control of a torsion spring 53. The outer portions 49 of the levers 45 are formed with cam surfaces similar to the arms 33 which, in the closed position, are engaged under lugs 44 on the neck 10. Stops limit the rotation of the cap in the closed and open positions.
