Abstract

[Class 37] The supply conductor to a grid or grids embedded in the blocking layer of a rectifier &c. cell is so arranged that the distance between it and the anode or semi-conductor is greater than that between the grid and the anode. This can be effected by thickening the blocking layer 41 at one edge 7, the conductor either passing over the thickened part or, as shown, the conductor 6 may terminate in a metal drop 10 on the raised part, the grid layer 5 covering the end and being electrically connected thereto. In modifications the anode is cut away opposite the conductor, either at the edge or by leaving a circular hole through which the conductor passes. A further example is described which has two grids. Specification 545,380 is referred to.
