Abstract

544,292. Lever-lid tins &c. BAILEY, M. E. Jan. 14, 1941, No. 508. [Class 66] The plug lid of a tin, drum, or like container is formed with a flange 5 extending beyond the confines of the mouth of the container and adapted to be engaged and raised by a cam member 10 removably attached to the wall portion. The flange 5 may be of doubled thickness and is preferably cambered as shown. More than one cam member may be provided. The invention is applicable either to full-aperture containers or to those of the kind shown provided with a seating-ring 3 disposed within the mouth portion.
