543,034. Hand-hole closures. MARTIN, J., and MARTIN-BAKER AIRCRAFT CO., Ltd. Aug. 7, 1940, No. 12678. [Classes 20 (iii) and 107] A flush-fitting closure plate 3 for a hand-hole or opening, e.g. an access opening to a petrol or oil tank filler-cap for an aircraft or vehicle, is pressed on to its seat by resilient arms 6 having rollers 8 or runners at their free ends. The plate is positioned by a flange 4 and is opened by depressing it against the spring action and sliding it aside along guide-rails 9. Stops 11, 12 limit the sliding movements, and bearing strips 13 with eased-off ends 14 bear on the flange 4 at the sides thereof and hold the plate depressed.
