542,522. Screwing. CALDWELL, R. Feb. 10, 1941, No. 1762. [Class 83 (iii)] A die-stock for screwing pipes comprises a central taper ended spindle A which carries a split sleeve D which is expanded to engage the pipe end by a rotating nut B the sleeve being threaded to carry a nut member C secured to the stock F by set pins L. A die-retaining cover plate H is adjustable through 45 degrees and is secured by bolts J. A bearing bush E is located between the sleeve D and nut member C.
