Abstract
541,997. Alloys. EATON MANUFACTURING CO. May 6, 1940, No. 8155. Convention date, May 6, 1939. [Class 82 (i)] A steel alloy, particularly for internal combustion engine valves, contains 0.25-1.5 per cent. of carbon, 5-20 per cent..of manganese, 15-30 per cent. of chromium, 0.25-1.5 per cent. of silicon, 5-30 per cent. of cobalt, 0.5-3.5 per cent. of nickel, and either 0.5-2.5 per cent. of tungsten, or 0.5-2.5 per cent. of molybdenum, or 0.5-5 per cent. of tungsten and molybdenum together. Small amounts of aluminium, zirconium, vanadium, and boron may also be present.
