Abstract

541,701. Drying fodder plants. TRIGGS, W. W. (Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, & Cie). June 14, 1940, No. 10387. [Class 34 (ii)] The material is conveyed on sieve bands a, b, c successively through superposed chambers supplied independently with hot air by fans d, e, f, the last chamber containing more sieve bands than the first. During drying, the chambers are cut off from one another by flaps l, m consisting of bands passing over driven rollers. After drying, each flap is swung about one of its rollers and the band on the flap is moved by the rollers to convey the material downwards from one chamber to the next, and at the same time, valves q, g, s in the hot air supply conduits are closed.
