Abstract

539,005. Sealing rings for dust shields. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and AINSWORTH, G. B. April 29, 1940, No. 7635. [Class 122 (v)] A sealing ring or washer for a dust shield comprises a rubber or similar flexible ring 1 of which the inner periphery or part thereof bears resiliently on an axle 3 whilst the outer periphery is so shaped as to be removably retained by a co-operatively shaped part of the shield 2. Fig. 1 shows the co-operating parts of shallow V-shape, whilst Fig. 4 shows them of flattened half-S shape. The shield 2 may be made of wood, hard rubber, or ebonite, and the inner periphery of the ring 1 may be slit.
