Abstract
538,471. Looms. LUCAS, A. April 20, 1940, No. 7153. [Class 142 (i)] In Jacquard mechanism having a separate hook for each warp thread, each hook is directly connected to the corresponding mail carrying the eye for the warp thread without any intervening cord or harness and is arranged vertically above the warp thread which it controls so as to impart a direct vertical lift to each mail. The griffe A, grid D, cord cylinder E, needles d spring box E<SP>1</SP> and rows of hooks C extend across the full width of the machine, each hook C being directly connected at its lower end to a mail G having an eye g for a warp thread wand weighted by a tongue g<SP>1</SP>.
