Abstract

536,300. Trueing grinding-wheels. LIDKOPINGS MEKANISKA VERKSTADS AKTIEBOLAG. Nov. 8, 1939, No. 29676. Convention date, Jan. 2. [Classes 60 and 124] In a device for trueing grinding-wheels having a number of surfaces 13, 15 separated by steep shoulders 14, comprising a templet 8 and a co-operating feeler 7, this has a part 24 movable, relatively to the main part 22, in a direction perpendicular to or, as shown, parallel with the grinding-wheel axis against the action of a spring 26 and provided with surfaces 21, 31 transverse to each other, the surface 21 being substantially parallel to the wheel axis and utilized to engage the surfaces 16, 18, 20 of the templet and the surface 31 being utilized to engage a transverse shoulder 19 thereof. In the arrangement shown the slide 3 is moved from right to left with the feeler pressed on the templet and the tool 6 gives a corresponding form 11, 12, 13 to the wheel 1. When the shoulder is reached the part 24 is arrested until a stop prevents its movement relative to the part 22 or until, as shown, a surface 32 on the part 22 also engages the shoulder 19 and the slide 3 is arrested. The cross slide 4 is then withdrawn radially, to cut the shoulder 14, until the part 24 is projected by its spring over the surface 20 and the slide 3 can continue its movement to cut the face 15. If the part 24 is arranged to move relative to the part 23 perpendicularly to the wheel axis, tne slide 3 is moved from left to right and the spring is compressed except when cutting the shoulder 14. In another modification there are two parts 24 slidable at right angles to each other one part being locked when the other is in use. If desired the part 24 may be pivoted to move in the desired direction instead of sliding. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a single part 24 arranged to move in either direction. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
