Abstract

536,021. Rotary engines. ANDREW, W. R. C. Oct. 25, 1939, No. 28637. Drawings to Specification. [Class 110 (ii)] Pistons of an internal-combustion engine carried on the arms of two spiders traverse an annular working space in alternate long forward and short backward movements. The space is divided into working chambers by partitions which are moved outwards for the passage of the pistons by air compressed by the pistons in approaching the partitions. The spiders comrriunicate their forward motion to the engine shaft through ratchets and the backward movement of each spider is controlled through gear by the forward movement of the other.
